BBRISBANE JINEN KARATE

Sensei David commenced training under Rob Dobson in South Australia in 1973 at the age of 15.

Rob Dobson had been graded to black belt by Grand Master Wally Szlagowski of the Szlagowski Karate Association, founded in Australia in 1958. Rob Dobson graded David to second dan in 2009.

During his time in Rob Dobson's club, Sensei David met and trained with Kym Reid of Jinen Karate Jitsu (Vice President of the International Budo Federation).

David has also trained in Yung Jung Do, Kyokushin, and Seiyushin under Kancho Sheigo Nagayama. Sensei David spent 10 years under Kancho Nagayama achieving the rank of third dan black belt. Sensei David has spent the last six years instructing Kancho Nagayama's classes, including opening two new dojos.

Sensei David has been running the Toowong dojo for almost 8 years - three sessions a week - Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

Sensei David travels occasionally to South Australia to train with Kym Reid at Jinen Karate Jitsu.

 

Sensei David and other senior students with Brisbane Jinen Karate are holders of current Blue Card Certification.
